Nondestructive evaluation encompasses a variety of inspection techniques including phased-array ultrasound, eddy current and radiography, and is routinely used in a broad spectrum of industries including aerospace, power generation and petrochemical. Medical imaging The medical and nondestructive evaluation industries have measurement and imaging techniques in common, and share the same goal: achieving high-resolution imaging without causing harm or change to the patient/test specimen. Ultrasound in general, and phased arrays in particular, are increasingly being used in both industries because of advantages compared to alternatives that include safety, resolution and speed. |
| WHAT WE DO | Consulting services BERCLI offers consulting to develop and optimize inspection/imaging solutions. We use state-of-the-art CIVA™ NDT simulation software and phased-array equipment (M2M systems, IMASONIC probes) to provide qualitative and quantitative results. These results are used to specify the minimum hardware requirements for customized inspection procedures. Products BERCLI distributes M2M phased-array systems and IMASONIC probes. | WHO WE ARE | Dr. Deborah Hopkins founded BERCLI after
more than 25 years of research and development experience at
the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. For the past
fifteen years she has led multidisciplinary research teams
working on collaborative R&D with academic and industry
partners. Dr. Guillaume Neau performed his PhD research at Imperial College, London, and the University of Bordeaux. Before joining BERCLI he completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA) in Paris, and then applied his training in ultrasonic measurements and modeling at Dassault Aviation, where he designed nondestructive-testing techniques for aerospace structures. |
